Improving Sleep Habits For Preschoolers

Keeping little ones safe while traveling distances long and short is a priority (and the law!). Here are the current California car seat laws:

Children under age 2 need to be secured in a rear-facing car seat until they are:
- 40 lbs or more OR 40 or more inches tall
Children under the age of 8 must be secured in a car or booster seat in the back seat of the vehicle until they are…
- over the age of 8 OR who have reached 4’9” must, at a minimum, be secured with a safety belt (though a booster seat is still recommended until both milestones are reached)
As children get older they may want to “help” buckle themselves. Encourage them to get involved in safety, but always check their work!
Remember: each car seat has specific manufacturer height and weight limits that must be complied with.
Local police departments offer car seat inspection appointments to ensure your child’s car seat is properly installed for safety!
